Hadith About Virtue of Marriage 2.

Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrated: We went with Allah's Messenger, while we were young men who had nothing. He said: 'O young men! You should marry, for indeed it helps in lowering the gaze and protecting the private parts. Whoever among you is not able to marry, then let him fast, for indeed fasting will diminish his sexual desire.

Marriage, a sacred union between a man and a woman, is one of the recognized and undisputable commandments of Islam. There are several verses of the Noble Quran and an equally high number of Hadith about marriage that encourage Nikah for a single man or a woman of any background once they have reached the age of maturity (i.e. the marriageable age). Even those who have gone through divorce have been encouraged to re-marry and to “complete” their faith.

While Allah Almighty has created pairs of everything on earth, He has also put an element of affinity between the opposite sexes. So,there is a natural need in males and females to have the company of each other. Allah has ordained limits for the lawful establishment and continuity of relationship between a man and a woman in the form of marriage. Verse 54 of Surah Al-Furqan reads, “It is He Who has created man from water: then has He established relationships of lineage and marriage: for thy Lord has power (over all things).”

Quranic Verse about Marriage:

Allah decrees in the Noble Quran to marry for the sake of maintaining chastity. He (SwT) further commands that you should not delay marriage due to poverty or lack of proper funds for He (SwT) guarantees to take care of the couple and grant them bounties from His Grace and Mercy.

Here is verse 32 of Chapter 24.

Translation:“And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.”

In the above verse, Allah Almighty commands us (by Him using the imperative form of the verb) to marry the single, righteous man (if you’re a woman) or woman (if you are a man) from among us.

In another verse (i.e. verse 187, Chapter 2) of the Noble Quran, Allah Almighty has called the husband and wife as garments for one another.
